The Golf Channel

In 2008 I will be working on the Champions Tour, PGA TOUR and the Sprint Pre Game/Post Game both in the Studio and live on site.

I will work as the analyst on 15 Champions Tour events, 9 PGA TOUR events and my Sprint show duties will consist of 14 additional weeks. Like any company there are always personnel changes and the Golf Channel is no exception.

Champions Tour

My Champions Tour started in Hawaii with Hualalai. That is always a great venue for golf and fun!

This year I will be working with a few different Hosts. The first two I sat alongside Mark Rolfing, the remainder of the year will be Brian Hammonds and Dave Marr. On the ground, the team hasn’t really changed much. We still have John Mahaffey, Donna Caponi-Burns and Mark Lye with us.

The team behind the camera will be headed up by Brandt Packer (formerly from ABC) as the Producer and he will be working on all the events that I am doing which will be great. The continuity makes things a lot easier for me! There are many more talented people that work behind the scenes that never seem to get appreciated but they all make the job not only easier but enjoyable.

PGA Tour

My events on the PGA TOUR will start out with coverage on Thursday and Friday only and then towards the end of the year, I will do a few full weekend events. My first event is the FBR Open in Phoenix. A great venue with lots of action and good memories.

The hosts I will be working with on this tour will be Rich Lerner and Kelly Tilghman. Kelly, as you all know generally works with Nick Faldo, however on the odd occasion I will take Nick’s place. Most of the time, I will be working with Rich, which again means the continuity will make things easier.

On the ground many will fill the role but I will get to work with my two good friends Jerry Folz and Curt Byrum.

Our producer for these shows will be our good friend Keith Hirshland who is working on all the events that are on the Golf Channel exclusively. The Thursday Fridays will use either CBS’s producer Lance Barrow or NBC’s Tommy Roy.

Sprint Shows

It is great to be working again with Kraig Kann as the host. We have a lot of fun behind that desk. This year we have Tim Rosaforte joining us as Brian Hewitt has moved on to bigger and better things!! At the Major Championships we need more than one analyst so Brandel Chamblee will come to the party

Most of my Sprint Shows will be in the studio but we will be on the road for a couple of “Live From events” and these will be on the PGA TOUR.

Suffice to say, 2008 on the Golf Channel should be an exciting watch. Don’t forget to tune in!
